D.O.

My theory is he's a box of chocolates from here on out. Hopefully he gets better. He's not healthy. The fact they run him out there tells me he's not in danger of being more injured. Which is bad. So it's not an injury where he just gets a little rest and we're ready to roll. Our first tourney game is next Friday. If rest helped he wouldn't be out there tonight. Seems it's just a thing that we're dealing with until the end of the year. That sucks because he's clearly hobbled. He's maybe 60%. Hope I'm wrong but if not why is he playing? He looks terrible.

Defending Dunn

I don't know if Arch or Brunson can stay in front of him. Moreover, they are both the best scoring options in the back court so they need to stay out of foul trouble. Since Dunn plays virtually the entire game, it seems that Bridges and Booth would have to share that defensive responsibility.

Bob Brookover Article Today "The Problem With The NCAA'S

Interesting read in today's Inquirer regarding the Conference Tournament issue-----with teams like Holy Cross and Austin Peay (with horrible records) getting the automatic bid by winning their conference tournament. In those smaller one bid conferences, it sometimes unfairly makes the regular season virtually irrelevant, no matter how well you perform or dominate the league during the season. Those teams that are clearly the best in their conferences are then relegated to the NIT if they have a bad game in their tournament, or when a poor team gets hot and wins a few games, which has already happened twice this week!! He feels there needs to be some changes to the current system, and he gave his thoughts and ideas as to what he'd like to see in that regard-----most of which I agree with.
As he said in his article, we all like to see the upsets and the little guy overachieving and knocking off the champ, especially in the Dance-----its all part of the fun and excitement. But in some ways I also think its unfair in the current conference playoff format---------and I agree with Brookover that some changes to the current system should be proposed and considered, not only for the smaller conferences but for the larger ones as well.
Not sure how to post the link but hopefully someone can do it.

UConn-Cincy

4 overtimes for 2 teams on the bubble. UConn probably needs to win to make the dance.

Cincy hits a go-ahead 3 with 0.8 seconds left to seemingly win it. Then Jalen Adams of UConn chucks a 3/4-court shot, banks it in, and we're going to 4 OTs. Craziest single sports moment I've seen since probably that Packers-Cardinals game.

It feels like a Big East Tournament game. Throwback to the old days, at least of 4-10 years ago.

Small Ball

Maybe I missed it but didn't see a lot of conversation about the team going small in the 2nd half and imediately going on a run. Felt like the good ol' days. Scrambling defense, spread floor, team rebounding, active hands, out quick in transition. It helped us turn the game. I think Jay realized that DR couldn't go the entire 2nd half and DO was out, so gave it a shot out of necessity. It worked.

Would prefer to have both bigs healthy and available but I wonder if in the back of his mind Jay is thinking that a small change of pace for a few minutes a game could provide a spark. It certainly was yesterday.

What has impressed me

Is the amount of young talent in the Big East. Obviously guys will leave but Nova, x Seton Hall, Marquette, and Creighton all return a lot of talent. This league is in good shape. Marquette will most likely lose the big guy, those guards will be good. X is loaded again. Creighton is young and those guards will be really good. The beat goes on. I have been very impressed with the rise in talent level across the league by teams not named gtown or sju.

I'm taking questions...assuming you want to ask any of course....lol

Disclaimer: At the behest of djrun85 I'm willing to answer most questions you may have. I may not answer because i simply don't know the answer or because i feel answering may betray my relationship with the team or the staff, which will always come first. I will do my best. Lets keep it classy folks, otherwise this may end very VERY quickly... Hahahahaha. I'm in brace position.....and begin!!
