I still have concerns about the offense, esp the line. Tough to lose Kowalski(Packers) and Hall. Along with a strong, tough Monangai (Eagles)
Impressed with the size of some returning O linemen, but esp impressed with incoming frosh Louie Csaszar 6-3 305 and he is just starting the Villanova training table and weight room. PA big 33 player. Returners Brad Seaton 6-8 310, Jake Prus 6-6 300, Bubba Green 6-2 315.

I agree. I think even with JR returning that the strength of this year's team may lie on the defensive side of the ball. Underwood & Gudzak have big shoes to fill replacing Monangai's production. Pettway & Livers are gone also. Kowalski & Hall were tough hombres up front.

Defensively, it looks to be a very good unit. Paris, Drains/Williams, Kpassanoh upfront will be above average. Cherry, Calitro, Majors, Shockley, & Lucas gives them veteran leadership & depth at LB.

The best group maybe the defensive backs with Reeves, Ceneus, Rolle, Stewart, McCurry, McCann, Smith, & Johnson all back. I think Reeves will be a breakout performer at corner.

Kicking game need to improve, but that's stating the obvious. Punter is solid.

I expect that the Villanova defense will be among the best in the CAA if not the FCS.

Btw: McClenton given Westbrook's #20, Forbes given Finneran's #25, and walk on LB Ben Evans given Long's #55.

I don't know who if any frosh make any impact this season, but you would think that McClenton may see time at slot and specials, Forbes at RB as they need depth, Bingelis is a 6-6 TE could see action at thin position. Chadbourne possibly could get time on specials or WR.

I don't see any frosh on defensive side making an impact this season, but I'm sure a couple find their way onto special teams. Excited to see how Lbs Malaguti & Wiley fit in, but I expect they are the next Lucas/Cherry tandem in seasons ahead. Malaguti looks to be a SAM & in the Dylan Lucas mold while Wiley utilizes speed & looks like Cherry -lite.

They do have a Temple transfer on roster #46 Bryan Osei 6-2 250 from Abington.
Looks like he played some at Temple. Definitely someone to get an eye on.

2 walk on field goal kickers on roster. I can imagine a healthy competition this camp.

Yes. I think it was 2011. Changed his mind and went to Temple. He will be in a battle for PT up front on D line. Certainly adds depth.
