Before the season started I had two concerns:
Concern # 1
How will Jalen Brunson fit with a team that is well established with two seniors and two juniors?
Will they clash? Will he be looking to get his at expense of the team?
Well, the answer is obvious by now.
He fits well and if there is any concern is that he probably should be more assertive and not defer to others so much.
Concern # 2
Are we going to shoot too many 3’s?
Another obvious answer. YES!
And this is a disaster. We are a three-point shooting team and we are lousy at it. We only shoot at .309 average. That is enough bricks to build a spanking brand new Pavilion on Ithan Avenue.
Einstein once defined insanity as repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Well, it seems to me that we are insane!
This needs to change quickly, if we expect better results in March.
Last night I looked at the half time stats. (I did not have the heart to look at the final stats).
Nobody on the team made more than one FG. Nobody. All one for…
And this was our good half where we made a come-back and kept it close.
Nobody on this team can currently claim to be a good 3-point shooter. Nobody.
Jay is way smarter than I am, so I trust he knows and this and will make the proper adjustments.
Not much more to add.
Oh, yeah one more thing:
I have to thank NovaNut for organizing the game watch at Tilted Kilt.
The surrounding kept me from going totally mad
If I had been home watching that thing, my beautiful brand new TV might have not survived it.
