Entertain Fordham on Sept 5,then the following weel go to UConn. Our Cats take on UConn this Thursday then go to Fordham next Saturday. As VU fans, after these first two weeks we will have a good picture of how Cats stack up against Army.

Would like to see Nova play Army.......I seem to remember playing them down at the old Municipal Stadium in South Philly.....had to be in the 60's. Would probably have to be up at West Point due to the limited seating at home......and, don't suggest PPL.

Villanova never played a home game against Army.
As for the 60's Cats played at Army in 58,59 and again at Army in 60.
After getting crushed in 1960, 54-0, Cats did not play Army again until 1975 when our guys won 10-0 up at West Point.

Could have been Navy that I remember......

I remember going to a 1977 game at Army and losing a close one.

Hitched a ride back with Wally Bruckner the then sports director of WKVU... interesting to say the least

Nova 66-64 That game vs Army was a wild one You are correct, Cats lost a tough one 34-32. That trip to West Point was the last time Nova played Army. About 5 or 6 games vs Navy since then. Even a trip to play Air Force in1999. Cats scored first to take a 7-0 lead. Lost 37 - 13.

Actually, Wally was the General Manager of WKVU. I stayed over at Blunt's summer home in New Paltz that night along with Jari, the Terror and about 6 frosh girls from Blunt's orientation group. The highlight of the night was watching SNL while sipping Heineken.
