ATTN: TU_NY and Temple fans

At first I thought this was about the conference hoops tournament that nobody goes to at the end of the year. Apparently there is a conference of Americans football title game.

Who the hell wants to go to Houston for a meaningless college football game? I'm in the mind set that if you're having a conference championship game at least put it in a destination that people would want to travel to. You have two schools in florida, put it in Orlando or Tampa. That might get the allotment give back down to at least 2,000

When 'Nova played for the national championship in 2009 in Chattanooga (a neutral site), there were 14,328 people in attendance. Given that they were playing Montana, attendance was well stacked in Villanova's favor. Will temple manage to muster up 1,000 fans for this game?

Exactly. Last week Nova had 5 people in Brooklyn to watch us play Stanford during Thanksgiving dinner. This is the greedy schools/TV networks sticking it to the fans not a mark on Temple.

Look at the bright side 50 people are going. I didnt realize that had that many fans

Those 50 are the parents of the players who could make the trip.

Is it in Houston because they are the "home" team or is it because that's where it was planned to be all along?

This is an ignorant statement. Montana averages over 22,000 for their home games. They have a very dedicated fan base which travelled very well. The crowd was Montana leaning, and not by a small margin.

Having said that....HAIL SZCZUR!

Is there anything that says "small time" more than having a championship game location based on record instead of a neutral site?

I remember how hardcore the Montana fans were online leading up to that game. There was trash talk but their fan base seemed pretty cool overall.

you're comparing an early season game in a meaningless tournament to a season-culminating league championship game. not apples to apples. this is kind of a mark on temple. its not like they're accustomed to NY day bowl games and playoff appearances to where it would spoil them on a conference championship game. this is a rare occurrence for temple, and a huge part of their high watermark season, not just another pre-season warm up tournament

easy to be cool when you live in missoula, mt. good people in those parts.

Eh, small time is playing in a half empty stadium like the majority of ACC championship games. It's a shrewd idea in my opinion.
