New mayor torpedoes bid. Probably best in the long run. Not a destination city.

See what the CoP is doing for the pope visit? Basically completely shutting down the city for an entire weekend. A dignitary is visiting for literally 24 hours and the city has no clue how to handle it. Cities like NY and LA must laugh their asses off when they see this. I saw a map that is basically showing how a fence will be built around center city to keep people at bay. Even Septa can't sell special Pope passes for mass transit without their site crashing.

5th tier city and it's not even close.

Speaking of LA, is it too late for them to put in a bid for these Olympics? Seems like it'd be really easy to pull off there, venues are in place, it's a better destination, they've done big events (including the olympics) before.

seems like a slam dunk

Perfect. And Caitlyn can light the torch while people gush about the courageousness of it all.

the CoP cant even get the snow removal process working properly. last i checked philly has been and still is in the NE and it snows in the NE every winter. But the city still cant get it right.
