The only other game I can think of that we had no right losing like Penn was New Haven in 2001. That team went 8-3 tied for A 10 title and got screwed out of playoffs
Drew Gordon, Brian Westbrook on that team. Tough loss. Didn't Cats loss ,barely at W&M, in a game that was postponed from Sept. Last game of season. Agree Cats were screwed out of playoffs. I don't think Cats,with Westbrook, ever went to playoffs.
ED-the 1997 team (Westbrook's freshman year) we went 11-0 and went to the playoffs only to lose Youngstown in the 2nd round.
Yes, Westbrook as a Freshman made playoffs in '97 and yes, WM game was played as last game of 2001 season due to 9/11. Cats fell way behind and then scored 16 4th qtr points , making 2 straight 2 pt. conversions but got ball back too late to do anything with and lost something like 47-44. They also lost by the same score to Maine at Orono that year. Their losses were by a combined 10 points. This years defense with that teams offense would beat the Rams, not only the URI Rams, but the St. Louis Rams.
That team would have done more damage than the 2002 team that got jabbed at Mc Neese in the semis.
Chip Kelly might be available after this year.
How similar are the Eagle and VU. Come out flat a lot, poor O line play, although VU due to injuries and Eagles due to Kelly's incompetence. Bad FG kicking. Defense on field way too long due to Time of Possession. No running game at all and the list goes on and on.
