It's a shame that Camden and the state of NJ decided to give $20 million to support a practice facility for a meaningless NBA team rather than support the operation of a bad team in a meaningless pro baseball league.

It seems like there have been a lot of upheaval in the NY-Penn league for the past few years. Then again, its short season A ball, there is always upheaval.

ND, not sure if you meant this, but river sharks are not in the NY-Penn league. They were an independent team, not affiliated with any MLB team. They played teams from Newark, Bridgeport, and some other places like that. This means that NJ politicians have built minor league stadiums in Atlantic city and Camden, and both are now no longer used for their original purpose.

I'm aware that they played in the independent Atlantic League. It's all the fun of minor league baseball without the excitement of "this guy might be an all-star someday".

I was talking about what the options for a legitimate affiliated team coming to Camden might be. NY Penn (short season A) and South Atlantic League (low A) would be the likely candidates for a 6k seat stadium in the NE corridor. The Phillies teams in both of those leagues have their agreement ending after 2016.
