It wasn't Nova's best performance, but the Cats gut it out and get the W. Paschall led Nova with 17 points on 5-8 from the field, 3-6 from three. He really demonstrated an ability to score inside and out, and hit a couple buckets when the team really needed them. Hart with 14, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brunson with 14, Jenkins with 11. The Wildcats grabbed 12 steals.
Positive takeaways: Paschall. He scored in the post, he scored slashing to the basket, and he scored from deep. Brought high energy again. Very nice performance. I'm liking this kid more and more as I watch him play. Hart as usual, doing a bit of everything. Jalen had 3 assists and 3 steals to go with his 14 points, and continues to look very steady.
Concern: Phil Booth. Phil shot 1 of 6, and is shooting just 30% for the season. So far this hasn't hurt Villanova, but at some point it could bite them, and Booth has shown he can be better than this.
Again, not their best performance. But it was a weird start time, on a neutral court, and they gutted it out and got the job done. Good teams find ways to win even when they aren't at their best.
