The 6'9" unsigned stud from Mali first picked up a basketball in 2010, and tonight he's the winner of the McDonald's Game MVP. He has such a high motor, looked great in transition tonight - so he's probably best suited for a high-tempo offense. At this point, he will surely be waiting to see where all the dominoes fall at Kentucky and Kansas. Iowa State had spent so much time making headway with him, but now Hoiberg's lead recruiter Abdelmassih is in Queens.

It's safe to say that Diallo will be getting a call from Mr. Mullin this week. Lavin already had St. John's in the mix as a dark horse, and now they have Abdelmassih on the staff. There's 8 or 10 "experts" on 24/7 Sports predicting St. John's now, including Jerry Meyer. It would be a great to get a player of his caliber in the conference. Mullin will have to sell that he's the best man for the job of getting him prepared for the NBA.

Mullin also offered Rawle Alkins today. It's truly amazing that Lavin never even bothered to recruit Alkins.
