Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times.....he worked in the off season with my father at Warner Concrete. Was a very nice man and a fierce football player. He flew about 30 combat missions during WWII. He wasn't bitter in his old age....but, he did have some negative thoughts on the Eagles at times, and he was usually right.

He was bitter like every old timer is about how much money guys make today.

His hit on Gifford today would probably be a 6 game suspension.

......haha......but, Gifford wound up out for his career........
