Word is that our soon to be brand spanking new Wildcat football players will be at next Saturday's AM practice to get ready to meet their new team. 22 in all with the 6 walkons. A nice size class and on paper a very talented class.

Any of these kids expected to make an immediate impact or will they all be redshirting?

You can't count on frosh to step right in, but there always seems to be about 1/3 of the class that gets on the field. Special teams and filling voids at positions caused by graduation or injuries. I'd say you would see no more than 5 or 6 of this year's class contribute especially since this is expected to be a pretty good season.

Cats in 2016 will field a very young team.
On the other hand 2015 will see an experienced, talented team.

I'm going to enjoy the season ahead, 2016 will start @Pitt with the following Cats starters gone:

QB: JR
RB: Underwood
WR: Burke, Gulyas, Wells
OL: Wallace

DL: Paris
LB: Cherry, Lucas
DB: McCurry, McCann

That's 11

Gang as you said, I am also going to really enjoy the 2015 season.
As early as the Jan football banquet a well informed VU fan was lamenting about our 2016 season. Pitt will be strong and looking to make a statement with their coach in his second season. Delaware should be back to form.
But first will come this season that should be spectacular.

The fact that headliners like Robertson & Cherry are gone can give anyone that conclusion, but I'm of the opinion there is a lot of talent left & I'm excited for the 2014/15 classes to make significant contributions in '16/17. I'm optimistic playing the CAA teams. I wouldn't gauge the success on a payday game at Pitt.

Crazy to think anyone will replace JR's production, but I think Bednarczyk or Da Silva could be effective.
McClenton, Forbes, & Pollard will be solid if not spectacular contributors in '16/17. Rolle, Ceneus, Stewart will anchor the dbacks. . I think the Malaguti/Wiley LB combo will someday be an excellent combo like Lucas/Cherry. Shockley will be the next great LB starting in '16 in the middle most likely.

We will have a very good OL with the big boy leading the way. Let's take care of business in '15, but I'm optimistic that the next few years will be fruitful.

Gangtackle11 I tend to worry too much. Maybe because I feel 2015 could be a very special season,I worry about 2016. Yet I know the VU staff has recruited very well over the years. I agree with you that Nova has a ton of young talent in school or set to arrive.
Hope to see everyone next Saturday.
