CoP Paints LGBT Rainbow Crosswalks in Gay Area of CC

Because nothing says "we just want to fit in and be treated like everyone else" like painting the street to call attention to your gayness.

Since burrs is preoccupied with whatever stiff the Sixers took tonight, I'll fill in for him as the defender of the CoP.

Sources? Links to articles? Add beating gay men to the list of things I've never seen right next to a taco.

Here's the source.

You know, if someone crosses the street on one of these, that person is legally obligated to have sex with someone of their gender within 1 hour.

The ones who are offended, protest or mock the most are usually the ones caught in the mens room stalls later on.

Has the CoP advanced to the "we just want to fit in and be treated like everyone else" stage yet? I seem to recall some much publicized center city hate beatings within the last year or two. I think CoPers could still use some visual reminders that it's okay that everyone in the world is not exactly like them.

A couple of boozed up punks sucker punched two gays on Chestnut Street, therefore the entire city is homophobic.

That's rather hyperbolic, isn't it?

If you don't like us, don't want to be around us, wouldn't you appreciate the "warning" that the colors give?

Not really. I don't think it's necessary to advertise one's sexual orientation.

You jumped to that conclusion, pal. Not me. I just noted that it's not just an unneeded plea for attention if hate crimes have happened very recently in a "nice" neighborhood nearby.
And you jumped to the conclusion that I "need a visual reminder that it's okay that everyone in the world is not exactly like (me)."

I did not grow up here and do not reside within the CoP city limits proper, but I do live in the CoP metro area.

Does this mean I am exempt from the requirement that I need a reminder that not everyone in the world is like me?

The chances of you having a Pee Wee Herman/Fred Willard moment are increasing with every post.

That's a bizarre response. Are you projecting?

I am simply asking who is required to receive this reminder that not everyone in the world is the same. If there are specific geographic boundaries, I'm curious to know what they are.
