Craig Berube Remembered

the coach is not the reason the flyers keep losing, its the owner and GMs they bring in. they refuse to change with the times. they value slow goony defensemen over fast goal scorers.

It's hard to believe that Flyers fans continue to shell out their hard-earned money to watch this sorry franchise. Most of the ones that I know don't appear to be very bright. They are loyal, but dumb.

Mister Snider continues to lead a franchise that has not won a Cup in 40 years.

That is astounding. The Flyers are the epitome of mediocrity.

flyers tickets are so expensive too. i dont get how any would shell out that kind of money to see a bad team. the worst seats in the house are over $60 per ticket.

Flyers fans are total lemmings.

Annoying does not even begin to describe them.

Eagles and Flyers fans are the worst. Phillies fans are front runners and there are no Sixers fans. basically philadelphia is a horrible sports town even though they act like they are the best fans.

I rather you not ruin this Novaball/novacatt circle jerk with a solid post.

Yea, and JVR gets to light it a little on a team that plays no defense and has sucked while he's been there. Scoring goals really hasn't been a problem for this team since he left. A lot to criticize the Flyers about, but you're struggling to find the right stuff.

They're too slow as a team and the D isn't good enough for the forwards to not care enough about defense very much. They were not very hard to play against a lot of nights, at least form what i saw. I think you will see some pretty big moves this summer from them.

All in all it didn't seem to me like they were glaringly bad in any one area. Tells me that a few smart changes might have them back pretty quickly. Should probably fire the GM while they are at it. As a rule, never trust a goalie to do anything other than the job they were stupid enough to take on in the first place.

Though, I do for the most part agree that it really hasn't been the coaching over the last decade. With that said, I think Hextall operates a little differently than Holmgren and will end up doing things differently. He deserves a chance. Berube wasn't his coach, so not hard to see that he might want to bring in his guy. Despite their past relationship.

Dmil, so fire Hextall after his first year? That's harsh and unwarranted at this point.

Actually, I think the Flyers have quite a few issues. I just do t think you touched on any of them except the one.

Genetally, your views on pro sports are dumb. Not really all that knowledgeable. Oh well, it's not for everyone.

This is all on Homer. Hextall is doing things the right way and got back picks that I would have though impossible for the players he dealt at the deadline. He got a little cap space at the same time. He has an actual plan which Homer never had. Homer would have dealt draft picks and young players at the deadline for that so called "missing veteran" that can take us to the "Finals."

I would be shocked if Hextall does not go outside the organization for the next head coach. I am more willing to give him a chance to keep this up and bring up the young defensemen in the next two seasons and finally get rid of most of the dead weight Homer left him. Lecavalier is just one horrendous albatross that Homer left him.

Ha ha ha.....my apologies then. You're ok in my book. I do think your Flyers' commentary is a touch hard. You're not far off, but just a bit over the top.

Matty - is there anyone left IN the organization that could hire? I'm not sure. Maybe Zezel is a scout or something ?

As retribution for absolutely raping the Flyers out of Patrick Kane it would be ideal for the NHL to just give the Flyers the #1 pick tmrw. F*cking dbags.

Eagles and Flyers fans are incredibly loyal. Hell do you mean by "the worst" other than the fact that you dont like the city's pro teams?

Sixers fans actually are pretty good. More people have gone to the games than you would see in an average city where the team is outwardly trying to lose games.

Phillies fans, by and large, are frontrunners. This is definitely true and I'm one of them. There are a few stubbornly loyal souls out there but the game of baseball is entirely too damn boring for me to invest any time whatsoever in it if the team sucks balls.

Accepted. This is why you are a solid poster. You man up and accept responsibility when need be.

Agree that I am rough on the Flyers. And I know that I do it because I detest their fans, not to mention the annoying Canadian accents and terminology. I literally root against them every single game, when I bother to pay attention.

Yet at the same time, I have been a Phillies fan for 35 years, an Eagles fan for about 25 years, and a casual Sixers fan since the days of Moses and Doc. But I despise the Flyers.

Classic '3 for 4' CoP fan. Burrs can we get a ruling on this?

And get a room you two.

Yea, he sounds like a 3-for-4'er.....ha ha

NC, like I have always said. Two types of Flyers' fans out there. One, that likes the competitive nature of the sport and understand it's a good game. Two, the douchebag Stepford fans with their own name jerseys, yelling SHOOT on the PECO PP, calling the players by their cute nicknames, and protect the team/sport like its a family member. Strange breed.

Oh yea, I'm not the latter.

I attended one Flyers game in my life, only because the ticket was free and it was to see an old friend that I had not seen in years. And it was in a club box.

I believe the Flyers beat Columbus 7-0 that night, no exaggeration. It was about 3-4 years ago (meaning at least 3 head coaches ago).

I was bored out of my skull.

Well, it sounds like you just don't like hockey. Which is fine. It's not for everyone.

I don't care for hockey, but Flyers fans are insufferable.
