Cubs Recall Szczur

Matt got 42 ABs over 11 games at Iowa. Showing more power with 2 dingers. IMHO, Cubs have matriculated him well through their chain. He'll be ready for the show.

Matt needs a chance to play consistently to prove what he can do. IMO he has what it takes.

Demoted again.

5 for 29 on the season with 3 walks for a .172 batting average and .242 obp.

In this most recent call up he went 3 for 19 with 0 walks for a .154 avg and obp

Maybe he should give bill belichick a call and ask if he can try out for the Edelman/amendola slot wr position? Baseball is obviously not his future.

Matt hit a walkoff single in the 12th inning Friday to give Cubs a victory over Pirates.

He went 1 for 3 with the homer, his first in majors. Hitting only 179. Shame but he will not stay if up he can't hit better.
CORRECTION not Matt's first big league homer. He hit two last September.

Started in CF last night. Went 1-4 with a single in the 10th inning, a major help to Cubs winning. He and the left fielder miss played a fly ball in the 1st inning. No harm done. Red hot Cubs won again.

HR against Kershaw and game winner against Mets in 1-0 game not enough. Matt sent down for forth time this season on July 5th. BA .211 but he has shown sparks of the talent that made him a winner in football.
