yup.....delaware reporting same.......apparently VU did not want parents w/e 9/26 when pope in philly....requested move to 9/19 and UD only team available

Nova has out of conference games at UConn, Penn at home. Anyone know the 3rd OOC game? I heard Cats play at Fordham. Anyone know?

Back in the day the UD game was played around World Series time. Season ended with Temple at the Vet. There was also a time ('96) when Flipper was holding a gun to Andy's head and UD popped up on Ed Reilly Day @ VU in late September. Shannon Riley (no relation) blocked a punt for a TD, Cats won 17-0, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Supposedly a one year move due to the Pope's visit. Will return to last game in 2016, and apparently thereafter, which is good.

Will Pope Franny be in a special Papal Box??? Will Radnor Twsp approve of that? Would be nice if the Pope got to sit next to Uncle Ed & Uncle Bill..........and let's hope that the Pope isn't a Blue Hen fan.....

More than 40,000 fans went to watch some Cats games at the old Temple Stadium in West Oak Lane, Philadelphia. It was a beautiful stadium but just in a obscure location near the border to Northern Montgomery County towns such as Elkins Park, and Cheltenham.

Stadium was about a block from where we lived (still home with parents), our neighbor was Frank Rizzo. Was at the game when Mike Siani played.....can't remember the outcome.

Mainliner, I was at the Temple-Villanova game in 1970 when Drew Gordon threw three TD passes to Mike Siani and Villanova beat Temple 31-26. It was on Thanksgiving Day, and there was a crowd of 17,500 at old Temple Stadium. My brother has a newspaper clipping of the game.

Central - thanks. I heard the same about Fordham game . Scares me a little Play up a level vs UConn with their 22 more schollys ,then go to the Bronx. Ugh. Remember last season. Play at BC , a game we could have won, then get beat up physically, then go to the Bronx and play without 5 starters, have 5 turnovers and Cats were 0-2. Having said this, IMHO Cats will be better than UConn and have more quality players returning than does Fordham. Lots of our fans tend to overlook how much talent will be returning.
I never like playing two of three OOC games on the road. But always playing at an FBS team makes it tough to get two OOC home games.
