ESPN is really hard to watch now--news crawl for sale?

With crunch time in the regular season upon us, trying to catch a look at more teams, it's getting harder and harder to avoid ESPN and the stupid, inane $hit that they put on the news crawl at the bottom. Pretty clear that space is for sale now.

The Nationals aren't negotiating with Strasburg? Holy $hit! What news! No doubt whatsoever that Boras paid for that to run for 24 hours.

That is probably not as bad as the fact that they treated us to the "revelation" last week that the Lakers thought Cleveland was dumb enough to consider trading LeBron for Kobe Bryant 7 or 8 years ago. how much Kobe paid to have his ego stroked that way in front of the 12 people dumb enough to think that Kobe has had value like that any time in his career who knows.

All that said, glad we will get some exposure to the masses on Wednesday.

unless i'm watching a specific sporting event being aired on ESPN, i haven't watched it or gone to espn.com since 2010. there's no need for it. you can get it all elsewhere.

I no longer watch. It's painful. If I care to see the highlights to a particular game I just click on the game in the app and watch them that way. Take less than a minute. I have no interest in being bothered by their agendas. The only good thing on ESPN right now is the 30 for 30 series. Those are good.

forgot about 30 for 30's. have the DVR set to catch all of them. i guess that's one more exception. dammit.

I watch PTI when I work from home, I've been watching since college and still enjoy it. That and specific sporting events (MNF, Villanova/Temple) is about all of my ESPN watching. Twitter has killed alot of why i used to watch ESPN.

I may be in the minority, and i'm sure espn's ratings will contradict me, but if there is a game on i'm interested in, i'll find it. I don't care what channel its on. I never tune into ESPN to see whats on, i'm looking through the channel guide to see what games are on and going from there.

Agreed, 30 for 30's are good.

Isn't that on at 3PM? Are you a kindergarten teacher?

Sports programming has to stop appealing the lowest common denominator and start finding niche programming that can draw in a variety of different interests. NFL Network/ESPN do it right with their fantasy football programming, FOX had a gambling-related show that was something new...why not having a show where sports nerds can geek out about sabermetrics or advanced analytics? ESPN can keep their TMZ garbage, just confine it to less than 24 hours a day.

Villanova will get some good exposure when they get to play on ESPN2 on Wed. against Temple. I'm happy you guys will be on a major network, you deserve it.

Typically what I do as well. I like having a game on at night so I usually look for the game I want to watch most watch it regardless of it being on ESPN, Fox Sports 1 or CBS Sports, etc.
