Watching the ACC tournament (on in the background while working is more accurate) and just noticed that ESPN has decided that a great addition to their broadcast would be if every time someone takes a three that the three point arc should light up in bright red. Just awful. I rank this with that time whichever network decided that it would be a good idea if hockey pucks were illuminated in a bright color with a trail on it when passed or shot. That was even a stupid idea pre-HD. Sports broadcasting seems to be constantly offering solutions in search of problems. Drives me nuts. /end-of-old-guy-rant
