Curious to see what people are wearing and liking. Leaning towards Fitbit Charge HR, which seems to have most features and a good interface, but still a few cons (not waterproof, pain in the A to charge?). Microsoft Band seems a bit bulky, and I do not want to spend for the Apple Watch first generation. Seems like the other options are by Garmin or Jawbone.

Somewhat concerned about my sleep and kind of want to put everything on display.

Waste of money, trust me. I had a Nike Fuel Band and ended up using it as nothing more than a watch.

If you have an iPhone with the latest OS upgrade try the Health app that will automatically be added - has sleep analysis, fitness, nutrition, vitals, everything

I do not carry my phone when I am working out. Nor do i sleep with it anywhere near me. Nike Fuel is not in the picture here in comparison. Would like a wearable that is accurate, easy and not cumbersome.

I wear a Fitbit Charge that I got for Xmas. It's ok, without heart rate it's pretty useless. The side button fell off mine after 5 months of use, I emailed the company and they just sent me a free one (received it today).

I average between 15-20k (~2k steps = 1 mile) steps per day, I guess it's fun because you can challenge people to step contests. I only have 2 friends on it though, girl I'm seeing and girl at work.

How bout you just pretend it's 5 or 10 years ago when you didn't care what your daily heart rate was or how many steps you took? ignorance is bliss.....and cheaper.

I have the jawbone up24. Its ok. I liked it more than the fitbit because it was more comfortable around my wrist...I'm not much of a watch wearer especially when i work out. I found it to be pretty accurate on the sleep analysis. One thing that annoyed me was that you have to set it sleep mode. It will eventually notice you're sleeping if you don't and set itself according but to really get an accurate view you need to set it yourself. The up3 is supposed to have even more advance sleep tracking in addition to all the other features.

Not being water proof is a bit of a pain. They say you can shower with it but I take off. They need to figure out a way to make these things water proof.

Charging is pretty simple, you charge it once every 2 weeks or so and it takes about an hour.

My girlfriend just started to use a FitBit charge. I never had interest in one, because I just don't see my self sustainably reviewing that kind of data and getting value out of it for more than a month or so. I'm curious to see how many of the benchwarmers have sustainably used a fitbit or something similar.

I dont need the built in Tinder feature you are using - but no HR is tough. I know they make it with the HR feature now but knock on these things seems to be durability and inaccuracy.

I was only doing cardio 1-2x a week max before starting to focus on steps (only in the past month or so). Now when I go to the gym, I do my usual lifting routine -- but tack on anywhere from a 2-4 mile run. Feel like it's a good habit to get into.

Is the Up3 readily available yet? I was reading it sounds very good but seems to have been beset with all kinds of issues and release delays. Supposed to have a ton of issues.

Withings Activite or the Activite Pop. 8 months with no charging. Sleep analysis, steps, fully waterproof, and you don't look like a douche wearing it to a meeting.

I just started using a Polar A300 in March. My old heart rate monitor watch broke so I decided to get the combo HRM and wearable. A300 is good but I don't like wearing that type of watch all the time and it is bulky to wear when you sleep. So now I use the Polar Loop most weekdays and at night. Polar Loop is like most of the band style wearables; decent but not great.

Did somebody say fitness bands?.....

Its out as the end of the April, there were a ton of issues (i believe it was supposed to be released 6 months ago), but i'm not sure of the issues now. I'd have to think any issues with the software or device would easily be fixed with software or firmware updates, so the risk is minimal if the device is available.

I wear the Nike + garmin when I run. Track your runs. Who cares about steps and sleep nonsense? Next you'll be talking about weight watcher points.

I actually think the sleep monitoring helps you budget a week when your schedule is tight. It's improved my quality of life more than the step counting thing, which is really just a data point that can't add too much value.

Jake, I wear an iHealth band. It tracks steps, heart rate, calories, sleep rhythms. Relatively inexpensive and easy to charge with a USB connector. There's a free app for iOS and Android for it. I paid $79 on Amazon.

I think seeing the length and quality of your sleep over the prior days time is helpful in forcing yourself to get a good nights sleep sometimes. I 100% pay more attention to this than I did before getting the withings, and I've had more energy during the day because I manage the sleep better.

I know you like to be negative nancy on stuff like this, but personally it works for me.

What exactly are we talking about here??? Is this something I should know about? Heard somebody say something about counting steps......I have 12 steps going up to the 2nd floor......might be 11 or 13, not going out to check. Should I decide to count them, only need to do it once and then I think I'll remember the number. I do have an I phone......2 years now, and I still don't know half of the functions it does. It might count steps...:p

Just googled this......is this what you're talking about? Don't think this is for me.........

Went with the Fitbit Charge HR. Feels pretty easy to wear . Barley feels like it's on. So far all good.

The sleep monitoring on these things is total horseshit right now. They are trying to set a standard on what/how sleep is measured but at this point you can use 4 different bands on a given night and have 4 different reasons.

Does anyone use the OTHER type of fitness bands: resistance bands? They're good for keeping your rotator cuffs on point.

I use them primarily for stretching which becomes increasingly important as we get older. Call me old school but I do not need a device to tell me if my heart rate is up or if I had a good night's sleep. I try to do cardio (soccer, arc trainer, treadmill) 3x per week and weights 2x week. I avoid heavy weights and also work on the core.

Have you tried Kettle swings? Good combination of some weight and getting the heart rate up. I am doing a month where the goal is 10K swings. A few good videos on the line about proper form and away you go.

Enjoying the band for now. It's better for me personally to monitor everything I do - it forces me to stay within better parameters with eating and drinking and now sleeping. I have been sleeping very poorly for a while now. Cannot fall asleep and up fairly early etc. Fair amount of interruption most nights etc. I am interested in doing everything better, more efficiently and more often. Lot of people dont need this though.

Fair enough. To each his own. I've found having an effortless record and log of my sleep, including when you're restless at night, is helpful in my daily life. The watch looks just like any other, so it's just an additional resource at no additional cost or effort.
