No better way to put it. Happened to a high school buddy of mine last year. Diagnosed on New Year's Eve...gone by early March. Life is short fellas. Be thankful for what we have.

Ah yes. Popovich's front office to coach move had the exact opposite result of McHale's. Is Bob Hill still coaching random international teams?
Not sure. He had a forgettable stint as Fordham's head coach that ended about 10 years ago I think.
He played on Minnesota's final four team with Kevin McHale. Also apparently made his HS varsity team as a 5'2 freshman. Local lore was that he was banned from the carnival basketball shot game as an adolescent because he made the shot every time.

Cancer sucks. When I read the other day how he was being re-emmited and wouldn't coach this year due to complications from the cancer I thought to myself that's not good. A few short days later he's dead. Everyone knows someone touched by this awful disease. Absolutely sucks. Kiss your kids, tell your friends and family you love them. You just never know.
