Did the loss to St. Joseph's earlier in the season cost Villanova a spot in the NCAA tournament?
If the new Big East only places two teams in the NCAA tournament each season, how long do you think it will be before Villanova makes the NCAA tournament again?
DePaul has made 12 straight NCAA appearances, so they'll likely get one Big East NCAA tournament spot for years to come.
Why is St. Joseph's so highly regarded this season?
Unranked 22-9 St. Joseph's is a #9 seed in their region, while #23 ranked 27-6 DePaul is only slightly better seeded at #7 in the same region.
The ESPN Bracketologist has had St. Joseph's in the tournament all season even though four A-10 teams had better regular season A-10 records. How did St. Joseph's leapfrog over 23-10 St. Bonaventure and 21-10 George Washington into the NCAA Tournament, even though GW had a better regular season A-10 record and beat St. Joseph's in the A-10 tournament?
George Washington and St. Bonaventure didn't make the NCAA tournament even though GW was 2-1 versus St. Joseph's during the season and St. Bonaventure was 1-0 versus St. Joseph's. GW and St. Bonaventure were both 11-5 in the A-10 while St. Joseph's was only 10-6.
