Game thoughts

A couple positives-Oline did a good job especially with 2 or 3 new starters, kick offs were strong, punts seemed solid, John picked up his play as the game went on, secondary only had 1 serious breakdown - quite a few new folks back there, running game was good early till the injury to underwood.

Going forward I think we will be fine.

The other side-missed FG, failure to make the 4th and inches, too much clock time lost in 4th qtr scoring drive.

Any injury report info? Underwood? Anyone else?

Agreed offense started slow. Robertson looked rusty and picked up play as game went on. Kicking game biggest concern. Defense did well agains't the run, and was able to rush the passer.

Always correct in looking for the positives....that's what you can build on. But.....UConn wasn't a very good team...will be lucky to win 2-3 more games. Will be interesting to see how Temple fares against them in November.

Kicking did not cost Cats the game. Rather the absence of Garry Underwood in 2nd half had a much larger impact. He ran the ball for 13 yds, caught 4 passes for 39 yds. all in first half. Maytbe more important was the loss of his leadership. Not an excuse, but his loss hurt.

We don't know yet if UConn will be a good team. They were not last season, but that was last season. I do know this, they are a very good defensive team. Even were ok on D last season.
