Graduate kicker Gough to Rutgers

I wish him well and I never want to bash a player because at times he could certainly kick the football, but our kicking game HURT us last year. In the first game of the season against Syracuse it cost us right off the bat. Does this kid really think he can play in the BIG 10?

Cat 2003.....right on..the kid cost us the Syracuse game...I hope it works in the BIG 10...I doubt it...

He won't be our kicker for FGs and extra points. However, we could really use someone to kick the ball through the end zone on kickoffs. How is his leg?

mrjim--sure looks like he cost us the game. But let's look at coaching. Cats put the O into FG mode. Cats have a very good offense. Super tough RB. Best QB ever. Super O line. So we run plays to get kicker into position. Why not try to score? Obviously you don't throw the ball. But please run the damm ball and try to score.
Unfair to put all the blame onto the kicker. Gough took the kick. Better than letting a frosh take it.
I won't even get into the call in the 2nd OT, our last play of the game. IMHO another bad call.

Didn't he drill a 50 yarder in the Sam Houston game, and darn near hit another? He showed guts in that playoff game. And we made the playoffs despite the Syracuse game, so I'll say he was a net plus for the Cats in '14, and would have contended for the PK role in '15 had he been asked to stay.
