Eric, I'm not sure I agree. His only issue is the driver/3 wood. His short game is completely back and he can still hit irons until the cows come home. He simply needs to figure out how to fix his game off the tee. Yesterday I watched just about every shot. He was simply spraying off the tee. Everything else is back to the point of being a top 5 player. He just needs to figure out the game off the tee. If he can stay healthy, a big if, he'll be back contending again very soon.
What are we talking about? He'll never return to where he was but no one on today's tour will do what he did. He'll win another major or two. He just needs his health. His short and iron game is back to elite levels again. I do not agree he's mentally done or will crumble facing the likes of Jordan Speith. He won't win them all but he'll win some
he's done as a top player. His forte was his incredible mental strength and confidence. Other players were beaten beforethey teed off because of the intimidation factor. Eerily similiar to Mike Tyson - when he lost to Buster Douglas, he was never the same.
There's an odd number of players in the field so he's playing first and alone tomorrow.
Is someone from ESPN a 4.6er, stealing my Douglas/Yang comparison? http://espn.go.com/golf/pgachampion...09-pga-championship-major-golf-was-never-sameYang Yong-eun, the Buster Douglas of the PGA Tour. No majors by Mr. Woods since.
Apparently not. I only have an original idea about once every five years. I thought this might have been it. Back to the drawing board. You're not the first person to make that analogy
Jose Maria Olazabel?+2 after 6 holes and I'm clutching at my back in pain.
