Don't read this thread if you haven't watched the 12/13 episode.

I think the Russian spies will kill the whiny female journalist so that she can't release the documents. And someone will get to the computer hacker so that he doesn't release them either.

Allison will survive but I'm not sure if it will be conclusive ending. Meaning she may just disappear, leaving the option for future seasons/plot lines.

Quinn lives. Won't have a big role in finale but he will be back next season.

The sarin bomb will go off, but will malfunction enough so that casualties are limited somewhat.

Carrie and Saul will figure things out enough to help limit the damage. Carrie may end up finding Qasim in subway early enough in episode to help in figuring things out.

On point.

Strong to quite strong analysis.

More annoying: Laura the journalist or the teenage Brody daughter from the first few seasons? Both horrible.

Definitely the journalist. Don't know where she gets off thinking that she can essentially harm US national security and then expect some sort of diplomatic immunity when the country she is living/working in will inevitably question her. Gabe H Coud should have never co-operating with her.

I was most annoying when Quinn happened to blink right when Carrie sees him in the hideaway. Cue next episode (last night) and he can't even breathe on his own...but has full function of his eyelids.

Allison dies at hands of Russians she runs to for protection. Damaged goods. No longer useful.

Some people die but not as many because Carrie is so brilliant.

Saul and Dar will continue to be clueless baboons to stay true to the narrative of the season.

Didnt you just love the last ep? The security guard handing suspected traitor Allison his gun. That would totally happen. And the people in the subway station not saying a word to the middle eastern men in backpacks who are closing off the entry ways in the tunnel and locking them in. No one says a word. Guess no one had anywhere to be on that subway during rush hour. This season has been more of a slow burn and not the typical slam bang Homeland recipe, and thats fine, just not sure how long they can stretch this series out. You kinda need a guy like Quinn around playing dynamo assassin to keep things intersting on that end. People dont watch Homeland for strictly dialogue and True Detective type shit with 100 moving parts. Some of that is fine but there needs to be a balance.

Good question on the annoying character choice. This years journalist has been obnoxious from the start. At least Brody's daughter had the excuse of being young.

This season has been fine but any time I've thought more than 2 seconds about it I've realized how stupid it is.

The big twist was revealed by a guy's screensaver which was him at a bar in the caribbean.

i think you've got it pretty spot on.

i think this season has been great, to be honest. possibly the best one to date. sure, there are some reality flaws in it, but that's always present in this type of show. the annoying reporter has been annoying in a way that adds to the story, unlike brody's family in seasons 1&2.

either way, cant wait to see her catch a bullet or garrote wire

Yes, that was hilarious - especially with an imminent attack all over the news.

Seriously, I said that watching the episode last night. In what would do they evacuate the Berlin airport but all other transportation hubs are operating as if nothing is going on.

Haha. You cant get on a plane but you will be totally safe on the train up the road.

bunch of freddyshoops on this board these days.

you miserable pricks wont allow yourselves to enjoy anything. i guess that's what the COP & COBD do to you...

I don't find the journalist's role and place on the show as annoying as some, she reflects the reality of the Edward Snowden worship by many in the U.S. today. There are a lot of people that think the guy is a hero and did good things which I'll never understand, to me every day the guy takes a breath outside of a prison is a bad day for America. Not anywhere near as annoying as the focus on Brody's daughter.

I think the Duering character and work by that actor has been excellent.

This season has improved as it has gone on, not one of the better ones, but solid enough. Setting in Europe was a good idea and has worked pretty well overall.

It's go time- one thing I'm pretty confident of-Allison dies at the hands of the Russians tonight. Agree on the bomb- goes off with a possible hostage situation but limited casualties.

Awful finale. Predictable. Boring. And no more Quinn. Otto During wants to f*ck Carrie? That was his chief purpose for being so involved in this season? Jesus.

No cliffhanger? Get some new writers in there next season and take this show back to it's roots. If it's not already too late. Probably is. Very sad to see Rupert Friend go but the reality is he probably asked off the show as he's gotten a lot of movie roles in his upcoming itinerary. It didn't seem like the show could survive without Brody - but it could because it still had its central mainstays - Carrie, Quinn and Saul. And it had the Quinn-Carrie "romance" bridging the gap of Brody's exit and its impact. I'm trying to envision where this show goes without Quinn. From which direction is the action supplied?

Quinn wasn't in the first season as I recall, so only a more recent mainstay. And while I enjoyed his character, not sure there's a lot more for him to do beyond killing and torturing people, banging large women. Fun to watch, but it's been done, and is done elsewhere, at least the former.

More can be done with Dar Adal I believe. But Carrie and Saul remain the main two. As long as they're both interested, probably goes on. The show has been on for a while now in any case, seems to have re-invented it a couple times.

It has already been renewed for another season so they will come up with a new angle for season 6. For the cable series, It seems as the next to last episode is the one with more action, and then the last episode ties up some loose ends and creates possible future plot lines.

I'm not convinced Quinn is toast. He could make a miraculous recovery and walk into carrie's new life (wherever/whatever that is) and create immediate turmoil for Carrie at the start of season 6. The premise of the show will keep her connected to Saul and he will still be in the agency.

Really? I was under the impression that she went Million Dollar Baby on Quinn in the final scene-that's why she put the chair against the door and took the monitor off his finger. My wife thinks that they showed the light coming into the room to show that he was gone but they didn't want to actually show her killing him-symbolism. I actually think it's a much more realistic ending then to have Quinn jump up and be on his way back to normal.

By the way, Claire Danes was on Stern a few months ago and she said she has already signed for another two seasons so we have at least that much more to go.

I might have mis-read the last scene. I thought that she might have been thinking about pulling the plug but the sunlight was the sign that brighter days were ahead. If Quinn is dead, then they will need to introduce another strong character right away. Allison was a good character this year.

Homeland is too sophisticated a show to have Quinn return from vegetable state. The doctor plainly said even if he lives he's f*cked. I interpreted the light as him going to heaven. He spoke about being headed for the darkness in his letter to Carrie. He thought he was going to hell. The light was heaven accepting him in, and removing the burden from her of having to end his life. He went on his own, or God stepped in for all involved. I'm pretty sure he's gone. But who knows. If he comes back and is back to killing people like Bourne then the show loses cred.

Wait, Gdog thinks this show is sophisticated to have Quinn survive and that the Carrie-Quinn romance was a good storyline? Huh?

Gdog, I think your explanation makes way more sense than my first reaction. I will miss that character because he always had clarity about the situation and was willing to do the dirty work necessary.
