Rivals' Corey Evans caught up with elite 2020 guard Jeremy Roach as he aims for a spot on the Team USA U17 World Cup roster. Roach survived the first round of cuts and now looks to make the final 12 that will compete in Argentina.

On June 15, the first day that programs were allowed direct communication with the class of 2020, Villanova was the first school to talk to Roach.

“The first one to call me was Villanova. It was one of the assistants and then Coach (Jay) Wright called me right after. They called me around 6:30am. They just wanted to tell me that they want to build a relationship with me since they can talk to us now and built that bond together."

“Getting that first call, it means a lot that I am a priority for them. It feels good. They are trying to get me there really bad.”

While any developments in Roach's recruitment are probably a long way off, Villanova is among the group of early favorites, joining Duke, Kentucky, and Virginia.
