Hey Joe: Did you get a mountain bike yet? Are there any other mountain bikers on this board?

I ride on trails Phil... Got into it a few years back and have really liked it. I have a knee that needs another surgery (the 3rd)so it's much better cardio than running. I've been bad this season about getting out as much as I'd normally like but plenty of time left

Cool, bgranc01: Me too. I love it. I wish I had enough money to have stayed with it (on good bikes) over the years. I had been away from it for about 10 years but got back into it a few years ago. The trails have come a long way.

The reason I posted was because I was at Allegrippis (Raystown) recently and it was awesome. It's 3 hours from the CoP but well worth it. Where do you ride?

In all seriousness where has that fat slob been? Nardi, you take away his posting privledges?

He hasn't been posting lately? Maybe he left because people knew who he was. I know he was using another handle. Not a baf guy but some misplaced arrogance. I'd still ride with him.

Nice...I've read about allegrippis, sounds pretty sweet.

I'm up in north jersey so have spent most of my time in the parks in warren, Sussex and Morris county. Allamuchy has a ton of real tough and technical single track with more accessible stuff available in an area called Deer Park and another state park called Stephens literally across a street. You can ride them all with minimal time on any pavement if your wanted to put in a ton of miles. Some of the hard stuff in allamuchy north is pretty hairy and way beyond me at this point.

Just started hitting up some of the Bergen county parks but don't know them all that well. Lewis Morris is closest to me now and fun... A bit more "flowy" then some of the others, but also more crowded.

I'm thinking of getting a new bike this fall. I have a specialized now but lower end and have already had to upgrade a bunch on it. I'm weighing the pros and cons of sticking with that and continuing to upgrade or buying a new bike. I'm demoing a full suspension bike next Saturday... have only ridden hard tails so far.

It's amazing how much you need to spend on these bikes now as well... Road bike like prices if you want a decent fork and drive train.

Real fun hobby though. Just wish I was a bit more mechanical and could take on more of the maintenance and repairs. I feel like after every ride my bike needs some tweaking.

Yeah, I went to a full suspension about a year and a halfago and can't imagine going back. It took me a couple rides to get used to it but I love it now. I spent a little over $3,000 but some people pay $10k. For $10k, it better have a motor in it for me.

For repairs, take a look at youtube videos. I geneally do most of the basics myself so I don't end up stranded - cables, tires, chain repairs, derailleur adjustments, etc.

Just got the scoop from nard dog. Merc laying low because he was afraid things posted here would get back to his employers.

Joe: Most people here already know who you are and where you work, etc. and haven't posted it. What makes you think we would want expose you now. It's a message board: for someone to mess with your job over posts on here would be insane!

Tell Merc to 'alt' it up and not talk work on here. I miss him.

I have a Cannondale hardtail that I bought when I lived in CoP. It was great to ride on the Wissahickon but I almost never take it out now that I live in NYC-proper. It's silly to own a MTB here, I plan on either trading it in for a more city friendly bike or just selling it to free up some much needed storage space in my apt.

Update - I just sent this link to JoeMerc and he refused to click on it:

"if i click that
that will be my first time on the board since the nc state game
i am worried this is a slippery slope"

edit:

Jenner: properly
Embiid, still no idea

Since he is not on the board he doesn't have to hear about shitty CoP sports teams.
