Apparently beat up his girlfriend and then threatened to kill her and himself last week

Also, his agent quit today. I can't ever remember something like that happening

its pretty crazy how many times this guy can screw up. pretty clear he has some deep issues.

his most impressive accomplishment is being the worst in a long list of god awful draft picks for the Browns

Prediction - Johnny to have a Doug Flutie-like resurgence in the NFL with a new team.

It must suck for him to see guys like Gronkowski able to go out and be rowdy and not completely lose control of their lives. Manziel probably views his actions as normal early 20s guy stuff. He's in denial for now, and it is probably a lot harder to see the truth when people worshipped you for years, and some still do.

Manziel has affluenza.

There was an article about him when he was a sophomore at A&M and it was pretty clear that his parents were massive enablers of his drinking especially.

I'm sure it does but Gronk is the best in the league at his position. When you're great you can do anything.

See Lewis, Ray.

Agree overall but that's not the point I was trying to make. I meant more that he's a young man who has substance abuse problems but has a much harder time seeing the reality of that because he is a professional athlete.

The difference between the two is that Gronk can have his fun but still take care of his responsibilities and not hurt himself or other people. Manziel cannot do that, clearly. For how wild and crazy Gronk appears to be at times- he has control.

And yes, if Manziel was the best QB in the league we might not hear about this stuff - but I highly doubt he'd be the best QB in any universe where he behaves this way. I look at it as part of the cause of his failure - not something separate.

"I truly believe if they can't get him help, he won't live to see his 24th birthday," Paul Manziel told the paper.

Apparently, Manziel refused getting treatment twice in the last week.

I think it's absolute bullsh!t. ESPN and the public's "idea" of a drinking problem is Johnny posting a picture on Instagram holding a bottle of Dom Pete.

The media is acting like Manziel is an out of control black man with all this negative media coverage. Oh wait, that's the narrative used with Cam Newton. My bad.

If it is just an excuse then it is just another lowly action which seems to surround this kid. There's no way to know what he really ingests on a given day and anyone who knows an addict knows they're good at hiding it. Guess we'll see based upon how quickly his life spirals out of control once he's out of the league

Given his obvious drinking problem that he went to rehab for, he shouldn't be anywhere near alcohol.
