Nova playing a really tough game today in the cold and rain and the kicker misses an extra point and kicks the ball out of bounds. 9-3 midway through 3rd quarter.

We lost to Syracuse on kicking and we should be in overtime right now. How is this still an issue??

Two losses directly related to the kicking game.
BTW a true freshman missed the extra point and then a senior kicked the ko out of bounds. Two huge kicking game mistakes.
Really sad.

our recruiting of kickers is killing us. at least we're consistent: the Frosh is just as bad as the Senior place kicker. The punter can't seem to catch balls hiked back to him. In the playoffs, we're going to need someone who can kick an end of the game, game winning, field goal.

OK could be in overtime.......but, looked like the Spiders were the better team today........no guarantee Cats would have won in OT.

Kicking may have cost us a chance to win. Who knows what decisions were made because of the 1 point difference. Likely it would have gone into OT, and then flip a coin given how the two teams were playing. John R didn't have his usual game. The wet ball and his cast may have played a part in his missing some throws he typically makes. Continually having to pick the ball off his shoe tops also didn't help. All that said, give credit to Richmonds D. They contained John R's running, and his usual accuracy was, as mentioned, was a bit off. It's tough to go on the road and win against a good team that had to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Surprisingly, there is little margin for error left. Any of the 3 teams left are capable of beating us if we don't play well. Have to win all 3 to have any hope for a playoff bye. Most likely that hope is gone with today's loss.

In what way did it look as is UR was the better team today.?JR did not have a good game, but clearly the kicking game cost VU the game.
Overtime would have given JR another chance to shine.

Spiders had about 130 yards more offense. Had our defense heroically playing in a hole most of the game. Bend but not break the whole game. or it would have been much worse. 5th year QB Rocco outplayed JR, who had the least effective game of his career. Cats 11th best pass defense in conference showing the strain. Start another 7 game winning streak and all is forgotten.

Villanova played about as bad they can, and still only lose by one (ok Richmond had something to do with it), but most days, Villanova beats them. They are good, but not Villanova good. Unfortunately, today wasn't one of them. I wouldn't want to be Towson next week.

truffy - what are you talking about? The best team today or the best team ? Richmond is the "best " team today because they eked the win. Love to see them in the playoffs, esp in our house.

Ed......relax........we're saying the Spiders were the best team today......Cats would probably win 7 out of 10 times.......Richmond did what you need to do to beat the Cats.....limited the effectiveness of Robertson. The team leans on their QB to do it all.....a little diversity would go a long way in having championship season.....not to say that Robertson can't put them on his back and get the job done.

If someone told me at kickoff thatRichmond would only score 10 points, I would have felt very confident.
