Look at Nutter Go

Joke city. Can't handle one dignitary without the city being completely inaccessible and shut down.

Can you really blame him?

Can't wait till the mass when an Eagles chant breaks out and the Pope is hit with a battery.

I kind of hope this happens. Then I won't have to listen to lazy, idiotic, national media types reference Santa Claus again.

Talk about something being YAWN worthy.

He's also visiting DC and NY the same week. Something tells me those cities just yawn at this sort of visit.

The road closures seem over-the-top to me, but having said that, it's not being done because of the Pope himself, it's being done b/c 1.5 million out-of-town visitors are expected to overwhelm the city that week.

City clearly responding to how unprepared they were when the Philthies won in 08. That parade crippled mass transit and the entire city was gridlocked from morning till night.

If De Blasio shut down the GWB or any other major crossing he'd be drowned in the gowanus canal. The handling of the pope visit sums up Philly in a nutshell.

The Septa thing was another debacle.

1) tickets for trains that weekend went on sale and crashed the system

2) thinking this means demand is too high they resort to lottery system for 350,000 tickets

3) only 328,000 tickets accounted for in lottery therefore everyone wins like a Big 5 player of the week charity award

4) remaining tickets will just be available at local train stations after all like any other ticket.

Think the problem lied in number 1. Septa's 5th tier site couldn't handle more than 20 people at a time and crashed giving the illusion of high demand that didn't really exist.

Is anyone really going down to the Parkway to see the Pope? With all the restrictions and limitations it seems like a very strenuous treck just to get within 2-300 yards of Francis (maybe)....Think they are having some big screens to watch all the smiles and blessings. Listening to Nutter, it is hard to figure out the no tread zones....now saying most folks will have to walk 4-5 miles as there is no parking anywhere close. And the buses going down from Bucks County parishes are advising people they don't know where they will be dropped off, and where the buses will be to go home. So, think we'll be passing on the Pope.....like we were ever going.

SEPTA during Pope visit:

I don't think so......from what is being said, all of the tickets that had to be distributed by lottery were not sold and there are plenty of tickets available from all stations. Think Mayor Nutter has scared off a lot of folks. Not that I care.....

How are the Mexicans in Bucks County getting down there to see their padre? Donkey?

Let's not even get into the merits of one-upping each other with which exclusive golf course you are planning to play.
Leave me out of this thread please. My club championship starts tomorrow and I don't need the aggravation of defending myself all night on the 4.6.
