After being named to the All-Big East first team and All-Big East freshman team respectively, more accolades came to Jalen Brunson and Omari Spellman on Wednesday.
Brunson was named both the Big East Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year. Brunson became the just the second player to earn both awards in the same season.
In the past few days Brunson has also been named POY by Andy Katz at NCAA.com, NBC Sports, USA Today, and The Sporting News. He appears to be in excellent position to claim the Wooden Award next month.
Meanwhile Spellman was named Big East Freshman of the Year.
Finally, Mikal Bridges was named one of five finalists for the Julius Erving Award.
