Compliments of Clark Francis. Hoopscoop online

The other guy who really separated himself from the rest of the pack was 6'8 Omari Spellman from Granby (MacDuffie School) MA and he simply picked up where he left off a week ago at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp with his ability to run the court, deceptive mobility around the basket, and knack for being able to finish just about anything he gets his hands on when he is in a position score from mid-range and in. He also stepped out and showed that he has nice range on his jump shot, garnered more than his share of rebounds, and made a strong case for a top five national ranking in the Class of 2016. However, as fate would have it, Spellman is another guy who will be ineligible to play in the McDonald's All-American Game due to the fact that he will be a 5th Year Player next season. On the other hand, Spellman, who finished ranked #3 overall just a week-and-a-half ago at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp, appears to be well on his way toward being one of the leading candidates for Top Player-of-the-Summer honors, especially if he turns in another strong performance at the NIKE EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam. He also is a tough match-up with his size and bulk around the basket and, as a result, should be exactly what the doctor ordered for Villanova head coach Jay Wright when he enrolls into school a year from now.
