Final show ever tonight in LA. I know lots of 80's metal bands were a joke but the Crue was awesome. Definitely above everyone else from that era and they always put on very entertaining shows. Much different from the dogsh@t on the radio today. RIP Motley!!!

In actual news, Guns N' Roses with Axl, Slash, and Duff will be headlining Coachella this year and probably doing a tour. No word yet as to whether Izzy and/or Steven Adler/Matt Sorum will be involved, but I have to imagine that there will be at least some shows where at least Izzy is playing, given how he played with Axl's stand in band a bunch of times. It will be interesting to see if Axl shows up fat and with no voice like in almost every tour of the last 15 years or with a voice like he did for about three months in 2006.

I saw axl and his group of misfits three valentines days ago in the CoDB. Aside from the music itself being kick ass, he is a terrible performer.

Axl is cooked. He tore through his vocal cords years ago. Show is over.

A friend of mine saw them last year in Vegas and said he actually sounded pretty good.

Compare this from last year:

To this from probably the best show of the Use Your Illusion Tour

Now, is his voice what it was in 1992? No, especially at the beginning of the song, but that's the difference between being 30 and 52. Also take into consideration the fact that Paradise City is almost always the last song of their shows.

That's nice. Thanks for sharing. I gave a first hand experience of Axl now. You did your typical bullshit know it all zero experience response.

I will be sure to take into account that paradise city is almost always their last song.

Agreed. On top of that, it has a perfect opening track and a perfect closing track.

No doubt the Crue was far from the most talented band-not even close. They also weren't the most talented song writers of all time either. However, growing up in the 80's they represented all that was dangerous and fun about rock n roll. Too Fast For Love is such a raw sounding album-there is a dark eeriness to that album that describes the underground LA music scene of the early 80s-I can't describe it. The first bar I was ever in was the Whisky A Go Go when I was about 15- I convinced my dad to help me sneak in for a few minutes just to see the inside of the place where the Crue, G 'N R, Van Halen, and going back way earlier- The Doors- and on and on got their start. Check out this footage from 1987-sure musically it leaves a lot to be desired but it is a very entertaining rock show-not to mention treating Jack Daniels the way it should be!

Not to mention Home Sweet Home is one of the best songs of the 80's and has one of the greatest videos of all time-this video represents everything that was great about 80's metal.

I can't wait for the G' N R reunion if it happens. Of course Axl is a jerk but when he is on he is one of the greatest frontmen of all time. I see that Axl has hired a personal trainer so hopefully he is taking this seriously - if he does it will be incredible. I saw them back in the day twice and would love to see them together again. Also, for the record, not only is Appetite as close to perfection as you can get for an album, Rocket Queen is hands down the best G 'N R song period!

I'm sure this has been raised before but Journey went out and found a guy that sounds so much like Steve Perry its eerey. Couldn't GNR or VanHalen do the same? Are Axl and DLR's voices that unique?

Axl is shot. Group sounds really good but he just doesnt have it.
