Mummers are not associated with one specific country of origin (at least today, not sure about historically).

The Mummer tradition goes back to Swedish roots (hence the colors of Philadelphia's city flag) - but I don't think I ever met a philly area person who identified as Swedish.

I meant that is in the Mummer tradition stems from the swedish founders of the city - and as far as I can tell the only remaining links to those early years are the flag and the mummers. Hence was a poor word choice

I like that the mummers are so un-PC. So what. If you don't like it, don't watch them. How is it any different than any other form of entertainment you find offensive? Howard stern? South Park? Just don't watch it or go to parade. If the PC movement is all about tolerance, then why can't opposing viewpoints be tolerated too? Seems hypocritical.
