Jay Wright has been a fan of taking advantage of preseason closed scrimmages, with the Wildcats taking on the likes of Virginia and North Carolina in past preseasons. It appears that tradition will continue, as Nova will reportedly take on another ACC powerhouse this preseason. Steve Wiseman of the The News and Observer reports that the programs will get together for a scrimmage on October 23. The game is expected to take place in the Washington, D.C. area.
Nova is slated to play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country with contests against UCLA, Baylor, Syracuse, Tennessee and either Purdue or North Carolina lined up. A scrimmage against an always-talented Duke team should help the Cats prepare for the gauntlet they'll face throughout the non-conference slate.
