Nova has made its first move of the July evaluation period, offering 2018 PG Jalen Carey out of Immaculate Conception in New Jersey. Carey is a four-star player who is currently ranked 50th in his class by Rivals. 247 Sports's Andrew Slater broke the news on twitter.
Carey excels at getting to the rim and possesses a nice stroke from the outside. He also has good size and length. Among his other notable offers are Arizona, Syracuse, Kansas, and Indiana.
It remains to be seen whether the offer is in reaction to the activity of other Nova targets or simply because the staff wanted to extend their look at him before offering (they have been following him for a while), but regardless it's easy to see how he could fit in in the program.
Here's some video of Carey in action.
