For perspective, the national, Penn, and Villanova DMR records came in 1988. Franey ran 3:21+ and Lipari was close to that. Verdier's split was a shade faster than Bennet's as was Akande's over Halliday. The difference was that Reid was smartly running to win today, and Huber was running to set a record. If Reid had been pushed, it would have been interesting to see how close she would have come to Huber's 4:29.9 and how close they would have come to those records. Reid was smart to conserve for the next races.
Lipari's split was the second fastest 1200 of the day, as was Verdier's 400. Akande's split was the fastest 800 of the day.
