Back in the day I was a huge fan of J.Crew shirts, you could walk in and buy 5 different ones and they would all fit great. You could literally wear these things for 10 years. Recently, J.Crew had the Thomas Mason collection which was good but there aren't many to choose from left, other than that, have been disappointed with the selection/fit recently at J.Crew and other places alike. Even the friggin' Gap you used to be able to walk into and grab a decent shirt.

Anyway, you guys were golden when it came to jeans. The lucky brand fit like a glove (although they are really broken in now and I am thinking I should have maybe gone with a slimmer fit). I am looking for button-down shirts that you can throw on untucked with a pair of jeans, roll up the sleeves, and you are good to go, but also shirts that you can tuck in to a pair of khakis for a more business casual look if need-be.

Also something that fits well. The old brooks brothers shirts literally had to have been designed with a guy who is 300 pounds in mind, but at the same time, I am not a European so I am not looking for something that is going to crack my ribs.

Anyway, any suggestions are appreciated.

The new Brooks Brother shirts are great. They have slim and ultra slim fit. Also, if you have coin go get some Thomas Pink shirts. The have various styles/prices points. They can be worn with jeans or a tux. Fantastic shirts.

adp, I am looking for a casual look. Does BB have a certain collection I should look into. Would it be categorized under "non-dress" or something like that? Thanks!

I like Brooks Brothers dress shirts and suits but most of their casual clothes are inferior quality.

Vineyard vines all have that dumb whale on it right? I still get a few of the JCrew washed slim fit shirts a year. Nothing crazy but most the classics for casual work and weekend shirts.

Brooks Casual line is really slim, but has some finds once in a while.

are you looking for work or casual?

I still buy J Crew. They went a bit weird with the styling a few years ago but seem to be back to normal.

Hugo Boss or Banana Republic slim fit.

Even BB ultra slim fit look they were made for a pear-shaped mid-40s middle management clown.

Or you can get a sick Affliction graphic design tee to show off your vascularity at the shore this summer.

Mr, Wade, I used to be a huge fan of Banana Republic, and I still buy there once in awhile, but they are a lot LESS casual than they once were. I will check out Hugo Boss though. I do like Vineyard Vines so I will check that out too but when I see that whale I usually think of some prep school kid who needs a beating. In the summer it gets a pass though.

Anyway, any other advice is appreciated.

Love you guys.

Most of my weekend shirts are JCrew. I usually opt for slim fit but they have so many different styles now I find it important to actually try them on rather than order.

Brooks Brothers shirts are tough to pull off off in a casual setting. I like their slim fit shirts but they're too long to wear untucked.

Charles Tyrwhitt used to have a decent selection of casual shirts but it's been years since I've bought from them.

Thomas Pink and J McLaughlin make solid shirts but are a bit expensive for casual wear.

2003,

Thomas Pink slim fits in both their dress line and casual line are fantastic. Wait till their big sale in July and get a few. 79-99 at that point.

Huge boss, the black label which is Boss, are great, both sharp fit and slim fit, which have a length at the bottom to do both tucked or untucked. Great patterns, and can always get a reasonable price at Bloomingdales. Century 21 generally has a great selection on sale

Eton is my new favorite shirt brand on the higher end. Fantastic patters, slim fits are perfect, and fabric is great. 250 for suckers but Century has them for 100, and their store on Madison ave will have them for 100-125 in July.

Banana tailored or slim fit or tailored slim fit. wait until the 40-50% off sale.

In my line of work, I feel a tunic works best.

Is the "Heart" patch extra or does it just magically appear?
