congrats to Nova Cross Country runner Patrick Tiernan. Finished 2nd at the NCAA National Championship in Louisville to super stud Edwark Cheserek from Oregon, 3rd straight title for him. Tiernan made him earn today. Tiernan went all out from the start and made it to a two man race most of the way. They destroyed the rest of the field but Cheserek was too much. He took off with about a mile to go to send Tiernan home in second place about 25 seconds ahead of 3rd place, which is a huge spread in a national championship meet.
