Phillies - LOL

Michael Martinez - LOL. Please bring him back to push this tank forward.

Dom Brown (and Tommy Joseph) released.

Matty? Thoughts?

A whole era of Phillies prospects were busts. From 2002-2008 did they draft anyone that will end up having a respectable career? For the sake of this discussion, let's consider the catcher that just hit an playoff HR for their biggest division rival to not be promising.

Him just not being good not nearly as bad as their having identified him as the one untouchable all of those years when they were trading guys. A few (but to your point not many at all) look to have become decent.

I'm going to make myself feel better by thinking that they probably would've traded the decent guys away anyway. Probably would've lost patience with d'arnaud due to non-stop injuries. Though the focus on and acquisition of other teams $hitty catching prospects in deals maybe indicates that they were kicking themselves for the d'arnaud trade early on.

And I was never a big fan of Happ or Worley, but both would have been in the Phils' rotation this year and next if they were here (am sure both were glad to have missed out on that).

Something something CoP Domonnick Brown.
