Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright Opening Statement
"That's a great college basketball game to be a part of. It was great. Even though a lot of people couldn't get down. I thought the crowd was great. We got beat by a team that played better tonight. We've won a few games on the road where we didn't play our best and found a way to win. Tonight we didn't play our best but a lot of it was because (Providence) did. Two outstanding players made big plays but they also made the players around them better. Their other guys made some great plays too."
Wright on the extra day between games due to weather
"It probably helped us. We played a late game Wednesday night. We got back really late Wednesday night and would have only had one day of practice. We were really well prepared coming into this game and we still couldn't stop Bentil and Dunn."
Wright on guarding Kris Dunn
"We tried everything. We doubled him some, we put different guys on him and we tried zone. Everything. He just controlled the game. Bentil did the same inside and on the glass."
Wright on three point shooting against Providence's zone defense"We didn't get to the foul line a alot because we settled. You can get off threes against a zone. They're packing it in and not playing man to man. You've got to pass up some threes sometimes to get into the lane and make plays and we didn't do that. We took the first three every time. We've got to be smart enough to mix it up.
Arcidiacono on game tying three pointer to force overtime
"It's a play we run every day in practice. End of game situations where we are down three points. We executed it. I caught it looking to shoot, knowing we needed a three, took the shot and it went in."
Hart on what he took from today's game"We've got to get a lot better. We've got to get back to the basics. Focus on defending. Focus on rebounding. We can't get complacent with where we are."
