I drove to the game from Long Island with my father. Although we gave ourselves 3 hours (usually takes about 2 and a half) we didn't make it until there was 5 minutes left in the 1st Half. We were obviously unhappy about the traffic and getting there late but as soon as we walked into the Wells Fargo Center that was all quickly forgotten about. We knew we made the right choice.
The place was 95% Villanova from what I could tell and even my Dad made a comment about the amount of people who were wearing Villanova gear. Even my bitchy ass St. John's fan friend who was complaining about Jay Wright having no class and running up the score (THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I HATE ST. JOHN'S WITH A PASSION, DEALING WITH THESE COMPLETE CLOWNS ON THE REG) was saying the atmosphere was incredible and that the fans were awesome. He was at the game but I did not see him because I don't like to deal with this people on game day. Don't have time for their nonsense.
I usually go to a few games a year, but this was my first game at WFC in probably 3 or 4 years and thought it was incredible. Everybody just seemed really excited and we had several conversations with people in our section. There is a real comradery between Villanova fans it seems. I think we all know we are a part of something special right now.
I love Jay and I love this team. Today was an incredible asskicking I will not forget. The 1995 team coming out at halftime was icing on the cake. Great Day. GO CATS!
