Does every single person who dies get one these days? I don't like them so I don't read them, but it just seems ridiculous when obscure people die and they are honored with a few pictures.

Let's not press the family here and make a big deal of it. He's doing fine. He's allowed one half-hour call with the siblings each week. And once the federal judge rules that a family cake shop isn't a "corrupt organization", he'll be back on the streets.

I'm surprised Villanova U hasn't started a "everyone remembered" thread and insisted you had to post all remembered topics in his thread.

Let's not forget we have you to thank for these remembered threads. If not for your blatant insensitivity on 9/11 (in 2002 according to your warped mind), these wouldn't be a BW staple.

Agree that the bar has gotten too low for remembrances.

I feel like it's mostly related to the small dose of attention whoring that starting a thread satisfies

Not surprised that the irony is lost on that dope.

I'm fine with actual dead people as remembered threads. Hate the ones like "Chip Kelly as Eagles coach remembered" ones. Takes away from the deceased.

I honestly don't get the mentality that sees something wrong when you start a Remembered thread to praise someone after they die. I thought that was what being a fan and posting on a message board is all about. In any case, I will continue to do it unless or until Eric says it's wrong. I really don't care what the self appointed board police have to say. I think others must agree when you look at the numbers of posts/views on all of the Remembered threads!

Love the remembered threads. But I also like predicting famous people's deaths too. That takes some skill.

My best friend and I have a running competition where we say "he's on the calendar" to die this year - i.e. you write someone's name on your refrigerator calendar. When someone wins they the other owes him a beer at the local pub. I have been waiting for Muhammed Ali to pass away for over a decade. My friend still has Hakeem Olajuwon on his calendar - stemming from his heart trouble many years back.

I know Hakeem is abnormally large and therefore liable to keel over at a moment's notice - but the guy did an elegang dream shake in a game just last year. He looks good - hedge your bet
