Rival's Corey Evans opened up the mailbag for his weekly Twitter Tuesday column and tackled a question regarding Villanova's plans with the 2020 class.
Evans notes that the Cats have prioritized top 25 point guard Jeremy Roach and shared another player who has been drawing some interest from Nova. Here's what he had to say:
"I guess you could say that Villanova will not be as invested in the 2020 class as it was in the ones that preceded it, especially this year’s crop that will bring arguably Jay Wright’s best recruiting class to the Main Line in the fall. There are not many departures expected after the 2019-20 season beyond little-used Tim Delaney but, then again, someone like Bryan Antoine or Jeremiah Robinson-Earl could have a tremendous freshman season and become Wright’s first ever one-and-done at Nova.
Jeremy Roach is the Wildcats' main priority in the 2020 class, and he is down to a final four of Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and the Wildcats. Villanova was the first of the bunch to prioritize Roach and their culture of success and strong guard development has definitely kept them in the picture. If not Roach, Villanova could wait things out further in finding the right match, though they have also shown some interest to Johnny Juzang, a do-it-all, five-star wing from California."
Juzang is currently ranked right behind Roach in the 2020 Rivals 150 at No. 22.
