Spellman was the leading scorer with 24 points.......
Last year, I saw Omari play 3 games in person. In all three contests, Omari's, "Explosive Skills", at times, brought all three gyms to a feverish pitch.....
Luckily, I had my trusty notebook with me, cuz my 72 year old memory don't remember squat........
I'm going to try to share some of my game notes for your perusal.......
A..........Omari has, "Major League Wheels" , that effectively propel his 6' 10" 270 lb MACHINE to participate
in as many fast break RUN OUTS as possible. Omari has, " SUPER HANDS", catching all
passes like a guard on the fast break. He finished these fast breaks with feathery touch layups
with either hand, or gathering himself for a thunderous dunk.....
B.........Consistantly, Spellman is a terrific, traffic rebounder on the ALL IMPORTANT DEFENSIVE GLASS...
C.........Omari then nailed a normal 15 ft. jump shot.......
D........Spellman went to the offensive glass, into a very crowded lane. Omari explodes for the rock, rises
above the three other mere mortals, and he executes a, FEATHERY, LEFT HANDED TIP IN for
2 points. HOME CROWD WENT NUTS !!!!!
E...... "THE SPELLMAN DUNK OF THE GAME"
Spellman sets a pick near the top of the key, some 25 ft. from the cup. Omari then sprinted, full speed,
back to the basket. His point guard threw a perfect 25 ft. pass which ended up very close to the rim.
Spellman caught, in mid air, the 25 ft. pass, and furiously dunked this fabulous, alley oop jam...
