McEntee ran 3:36.81 for fourth place. Look up what that converts to as a mile time. Kyle Merber won in 3:35.59 -- Jordan Williamsz 3:36.74 -- Nate Brannen 3:36.77.

That puts McEntee less than a second out of second place. Add Denault, Lampron, and Fitzsimons who is coming around (does Mildenhall have another outdoor season?) and that's a lot of firepower for Penn for the next couple of years.

Someone just posted on Letsrun that Bobby Curtis posted on his Twitter account that he was looking forward to seeing Nova's next recruit, Jordan Williamsz from Australia. Who knows if that is true or not? However, if it is, Nova has added some firepower for next year.

Besides today, he's got some good times: 49.32, 1:47.34, & 8:13.75

Villanovarunning also says Williamsz has recently signed with Nova for fall 2012, so it is probably true. That site is usually very good.

Also at Swarthmore, Reid ran 4:14.22 and Akande 4:17.33. (Hasay ran 4:10 the other day)

Denault also had posted an excellent time in one of the other 1500 races --3:42.26

There is certainly some great news coming our way the last few days. Can anyone tell me why an event held at Swathmore is named after Tup? My junior year in high school, Tup's brother was my English teacher. Brother Luke as he was known then was a great high school track and X Country coach at West Catholic. I probably met Tup about five or six times.

Apparently Williamsz is not a done deal, and Villanovarunning no longer has the story up. Maybe it was too good to be true, or maybe it will still work out.

Posters on Let's Run raised some serious comments about the recruitment of
Williamsz; they were about his eligibility. I just found out why the Tup meet was at Swathmore.

Villanova Running (i.e., yours truly) spoke too soon -- the process is on-going, though, and has a good chance of coming true. For what it's worth, on his Facebook page after they both went 3:36 at Swarthmore, Williamsz referred to himself and McEntee as "Nova boys" -- sounds like he wants it to happen, if the details can be worked out. That Melbourne Track Club sponsorship stuff is making things tricky, I think.

BTW, Williamsz is chasing the Olympic "A" standard Friday night at the Oxy High Performance meet in Los Angeles. If he gets the "A" and makes the Australian Olympic team, then I'd say there would be a good chance he'd turn pro and skip university. He's headed back to Australia after the Friday race. Fingers crossed -- wait and see.

More evidence that Jordy Williamsz to Villanova is going to happen. Here's a tweet from this morning:

Sad to leave Philly, I have a feeling I'll be back soon though #NovaTrack

Williamsz bonked at Oxy. Went out hard but couldn't keep up with the leader. Might have done better in a heat that didn't go out as hard.
