Sweep in BE Xcountry

here you go whitecat.
Great job by both teams, men actually won quite easily. Top 6 guys in top 14 finishers, great job by them.

Reid and Mimic went 1-2 to carry the women. Still a bit concerned about our 4-7 runners at nationals. If our 4 and 5 runners are off a bit it could be bad news at nationals where the runners come in very fast and 10 sec. in the middle of pack can be the difference in 20-30 spots.

Congrats to both, great day for the Cats.

Our top two women are from Canada and Serbia respectively. Our top finisher in the men's race is from Australia. Villanova international. Buckeye's gotta love it.

UB57,

I hope those trends continue, but maybe the biggest key this year has been the improvement of Nicky Akande. It was called by one of our true experts, they are USU-Nit and sebastianic. excatguy is also very knowledgeable. Her
times in high school were good, but they certainly weren't exceptional. Gina
sees things in high school kids who will improve.

Marcus was working all year on the pack mentality without a real stud; it was evident in all of the other events so far this season.

You probably don't remember, but in either 1952 or l953 you and I were at Franklin Field a high school meet with all of the good kids from Philly
and the burbs. You thought that Hannely (name/spelling) from West would win the 220, but I was correct in predicting that Pollard from Coatsville (SP?) would win. Pollard won because he was faster.

excattyguy,

Isn't it there all of the time? It sure seems so.

Recently it has, but it's been other places. Years ago, after Megan Flowers, who had played a significant role in Nova winning a championhsip, transferred from Nova to Arkansas, the meet was held in Fayetteville. Arkansas was a favorite, especially with Flowers there and not at Nova, but Nova won anyway. I think that was the race when Emer Molloy from Ireland stepped up bigtime.

Went to NCAA XC champs back in the mid 80s when it was hosted by Lehigh on the Stabler fields.
