Coach on the CAA Conference call told the reporters that JR visited Dr. Andrews about his knee.

He said no surgery, but 6 months of recovery time. He praised JR for being one of the greats in Villanova history and said he will be recovering for pro tryouts.

Any doubts that this isn't now the Zach Bednarczyk era have been answered.

I have a feeling its going to be a long season for both VU and Eagles fans. And there were such high expectations for both teams at the beginning of the season and each season crumpled in just 4 weeks, mainly due to injuries.

Hopefully, both teams can do something because neither the NFC East or the CAA, with the possible exception of JMU, have any really outstanding teams.

Such a great player to watch. Made Villanova football a priority on Sat afternoons in the fall. Will be sad to see him watching in street clothes. Just so rare for the best player in the country to miss his senior year. Can you imagine that having happened to Johnny Manziel? Sucks
