I think Novak is better on grass than clay and don't give Murray much chance here. He simply doesn't have the weapons. Federer would have to really serve well. Love to see a Federer/Novak final.Sharapova hasnt beaten Williams in 11 yrs. Her problem against Serena is she's too big and lumbering and doesnt move well enough to extend rallies and make Serena work. Serena has also won 17 straight 3-set matches. That's nuts. One of the most clutch athletes of all time.
Djokovic vs Murray-Federer would be a great final. Federer is still devastating on grass and we krnow Murray loves it there as well. Wawa is playing Gasquet right now and it's 1 set apiece. Even if, a big if, as Grassquet is good on the lawn, he comes through I dont fancy Stan's chances to beat Novak on grass. The ball bounces lower and you have less time to pull the trigger which induces more errors from Stan as he's always looking to go big off the ground - even when he's not in a position to do so. Yes, Novak still has to beat Cilic first but I doubt very much that Cilic is in good enough form curently to take 3 sets off him.
I would literally flip a coin as to who will win the men's event. Djoker is the solid betting favorite but Murray and Fed have very decent chances to beat him on grass. If Serena loses it will be a shocking upset.
Serena crushes Maria, not even competitive.
Murray/Federer is going to be good
Murray/Federer is going to be good
Has there ever been a male tennis player who has come close to how athletically superior Serena is to her opponents?
Roger is playing blistering tennis at the moment.
It also has a lot to do with the fact Novak adjusted, played further inside the court and simply outgunned Federer. Right now Novak is just too good. Give the guy his due. If not for a bad stretch vs. Stan we'd be talking Grand Slam. Federer played as well as he's going to play all tourey. Novak just has too much from the baseline. He comes in cuts angles and has these guys all playing from too deep in the court. It's an absolute clinic watching him play. He's got another 9 grand slams before he turns 31. He's already sitting at 9. I expect him to move up to around 3rd place all time in Grand Slam wins before he hits the twilight of his career. Federer got beaten by a better player.Federer should not have lost that first set. He was the better player in the set. He was screwed when he lost it. Blew numerous set points. When you outplay Djokovic in a given set you absolutely positively can't lose it. Federer had been on absolute cruise control the entire tourney. But it's a bit mental for him against Djokovic. Federer was playing his same free-wheeling confident front-running tennis in that first set but once Novak fended off all those set points, Federer tightened up some and that's all it takes against Novak. Once you blink, you're toast. I think Roger had a great shot to win the match had he not blown that 1st set. Oh well.
