Fantastic story. Seems the couple wanted to attend the Victoria Secret fashion show in the GCITW and were willing to pay $70K to do so.

Favorite line in the story:

"According to the suit, the pitcher and his wife, former reality TV star Heidi Strobel, were instructed to show up the day of the fashion show to collect their tickets, but were not to tell anyone how they got them."

No red flags there.

85% chance it turns out that they paid the $70,000 out of their charitable foundation.

That's a bit picky. He has been top 10 4 times.

I would say it's a push. Similar numbers after lee sucked in his first couple years.
Lee has a Cy Young. Hamels has a WS MVP.

I typed in Cliff Lee to google and auto fill suggested finishing it with "blows 4 run lead". That was an infuriating game.

Yeah - Lee was more dominant but Hamels has been more consistent. Let's see what happens to Hamels with the rest of his career. I thought Lee was going to be like Moyer and pitch until he was 50. He had such a fluid, easy motion and just consistently threw strikes. I never would have thought his career would have ended like this due to injury.
